NEW DISCOVERIES RESEARCH

Lecture & Luncheon

On March 8th, 2017 the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) will give attendees a glimpse into some of the new treatments used to combat the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the country. The lecture and luncheon will take place at The Beach Club in Palm Beach, Florida and will feature Dr. David McConkey, Director of Johns Hopkins Greenberg Bladder Cancer Institute, who will highlight promising new bladder cancer treatments, as well as Fay Vincent, former Major League Baseball Commissioner, and bladder cancer survivor who will share his personal journey.

One in 42 people will be diagnosed with bladder cancer during their lifetime. Although bladder cancer is a common cancer, it has been vastly ignored. The purpose of this event is to educate the general public, increase bladder cancer awareness, and raise funds to find a cure.

As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to engage a community of dedicated supporters – survivors, co-survivors, volunteers, and medical professionals – and to demonstrate your commitment to improve the lives of those living with bladder cancer. BCAN will work with you to customize a sponsorship package that meets your specifications.

BCAN is grateful to the Committee Members for their hard work and dedication.

ABOUT THE BLADDER CANCER ADVOCACY NETWORK

The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network mission is to increase public awareness about bladder cancer, advance bladder cancer research, and provide educational and support services for the bladder cancer community.

Through advocacy, awareness and educational programs such as the Bladder Cancer Think Tank, the Young Investigator Awards, and Patient Insight Webinars, BCAN is providing help and hope for those impacted by this life-changing disease.

Our heritage in bladder cancer, multi-disciplinary approach, expansive programming and broad reach in communities allows us to offer our sponsors:

  • The opportunity to change the state of bladder cancer in this country and around the world.
  • A chance to reach various stakeholders including patients, government, healthcare providers, health systems and researchers.
  • Flexibility to support and create programming that aligns with your business objectives.

KNOW THE FACTS:

  • Bladder cancer is the 5th most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States.
  • In 2016, more than 77,000 Americans will be diagnosed with bladder cancer.  About 16,000 Americans will die of bladder cancer this year.
  • Men are almost 4 times more likely to be diagnosed than women.
  • In 2016, about 18,000 women will be told they have bladder cancer.  Although it can affect women of any age, they are more likely to be diagnosed with bladder cancer later in life and have a worse prognosis than men at almost every stage of the disease.
