Monica Zapotosky's Fundraiser Page for Bladder Cancer Research
You know I have been fighting Bladder Cancer since 2013. When it came back in 2015, I was told I only had 6 months. Chemo & Radiation (for the second time) wasn't working, my only chance was an experimental trial called Opdivo. That news was devastating and scary, but with the support from all of you, you gave me the courage to fight. I am blessed and proud to say I've been one of the 270 participants in the Opdivo Trial for the past year and it has just been approved by the FDA. As a patient that had to go through Chemo and Radiation, and the toll it takes on your body, I am so grateful for this new drug. It is less invasive and is working to help control my cancer and give me back my life again. I want to make you aware that Bladder Cancer is now the 5th leading cancer in the United States. More than 500,000 people are living with the disease in the U.S. and this year nearly 77,000 will be newly diagnosed and 16,000 will not survive their bladder cancer jouney. It's been over 30 years since research has approved a new drug to fight this disease. 30 YEARS, way too long! Reality, if I didn't have this drug, I might not have been here today. So, the reason I am writing to you is that I want to raise money for research and I'm counting on you to help me. Also, if your employer has a matching gift donation can you please ask them to give! Every little bit counts and is appreciated! The Funds will go to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) to fulfill its mission to advance research, provide information and support, and to raise awareness on bladder cancer. With your support and generous donation, more research can be done to stop this devastating disease. More importantly, the research will help others who are fighting for their lives! Please, Please Donate!
From the bottom of my Heart, I Love You
