Welcome to Karen's Bladder Cancer Fundraising Page
As most of you know, after an evening in the ER New Year's Eve 2020 (the day before my 54th birthday) and we discovered a mass in my bladder, I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer on January 7, 2021. After removing the tumors in late January and 6 weeks of BCG treatments through March and April, I am currently waiting until May 26, 2021 to see if the treatments worked and I can go into a year of maintenence treatments or if I have a more aggressive form than we originally thought.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and good thoughts as I go through this.
More than 600,000 people are living with bladder cancer in the US and this year nearly 81,000 will be newly diagnosed and 17,000 will not survive their bladder cancer journey.
I am raising funds for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) to fulfill its mission to advance research, provide information and support, and to raise awareness on bladder cancer. I hope you will take a few moments to use the links above to find out more abou BCAN, but also about Bladder Cancer in general. It is one of the most common cancers, but one of the least known - and more importantly, the least funded for a cure.
DONATE NOW! In honor of all those affected by bladder cancer – please help us reach our goal. Any amount helps!
By making a donation, you will be helping BCAN to promote bladder cancer research education and support programs – but, most importantly, to save lives.
