Welcome to My Personal Page
I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2012, and it turned my life upside down. Once I found BCAN things began to make more sense. I had found a place to talk to others and to get information. Now that I'm in remission (since 2013!) I am dedicated to raising money for BCAN to fund research and to support the work they do with people who have cancer and their familieis.
I am walking for the more than 500,000 people living with bladder cancer in the US; to support the nearly 77,000 newly diagnosed; and to honor the 16,000 who will not survive their bladder cancer journey this year. The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) is the organization these people turn to in their quest to learn more about this devastating disease.
Bladder cancer is the 5th most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States. It impacts both men and women of all ages and races. One in 42 people will be diagnosed with bladder cancer during their lifetime. Bladder cancer also has a recurrence rate of 50-80 percent and because it requires life-long surveillance, it is the most expensive cancer to treat on a per patient basis.
DONATE NOW! In honor of all those affected by bladder cancer – please help me reach my goal. Any amount helps!
By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping BCAN to promote bladder cancer research education and support programs – but, most important, to save lives.
