I walk for my daddy, Mike Arbaugh
In 2017, my family came face-to-face with the ugly head of bladder cancer when my then-58-year-old father was diagnosed. We had no idea what lay ahead for him, but after a 2-year battle, multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and a full cystectomy after the cancer reaches Stage 3, we can praise God that my daddy is now considered in remission! While there is always a possiblity that it could come back to another part of his body, we are thankful that his 6-month scans have routinely come back clear. While my BCAN walk preciously has been to support my dad's battle, this year I walk to support his victory over cancer and to support those still battling.
I am raising funds for the more than 600,000 people living with bladder cancer in the United States, to support the nearly 81,000 people who will be diagnosed this year, and to honor the 17,000 who will succumb to this disease. The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) is the only national advocacy organization devoted to advancing bladder cancer research and supporting those impacted by the disease.
Please consider a generous donation to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network that will help them advocate for greater public awareness and increase funding for research to find a cure for bladder cancer.
Due to the current global Covid-19 pandemic, all walks will be virtual walks taking place on May 2, 2020 to keep all participants, some of whom are high-risk due to current or previous diagnosis and/or treatment safe and healthy.
By making a donation to help me reach my goal, you will be helping to raise awareness and save lives.
