No bladder, doesn't matter!
Our mom, Sue Herald, was diagnosed with bladder cancer approximately two years ago. After standard treatment with chemotherapy and surgery to remove her bladder, she continued to have cancer in her lymph nodes. The only option moving forward was to enroll in a clinic trial since there is no current standard treatment for this type of cancer. We are extremely happy to say that she is doing AMAZING on her clinical trial drug, which she has been on for over a year now.
Without clinical trials and ongoing medical research, we wouldn't be so luckly. Because of research and the current clinical trial, she is still here and continuing to live more or less normally.
After doing this walk for the first time last year, we decided to make it an annual event. Medical research and clinical trials have made a lasting impact on our family and we will continue to support this great cause. We would like thank those of you who are willing and able to support this fundraiser in the hopes of saving future generations from this disease. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
We are walking as a team to raise funds for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) to fulfill its mission to advance research, provide information and support, and to raise awareness on bladder cancer.
More than six hundred thousand people living with bladder cancer in the US; to support the nearly 81,000 who will be diagnosed this year; and to honor the 17,000 who will die from this disease.
DONATE NOW! In honor of all those affected by bladder cancer – please help us reach our goal. Any amount helps!
By making a donation to our team, you will be helping BCAN to promote bladder cancer research education and support programs – but, most importantly, to save lives.
