We are walking as a team to honor Megan's bladder cancer fight and raise funds for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN), the only national advocacy organization devoted to advancing bladder cancer research and supporting those impacted by the disease. By making a donation to our team, you will be helping BCAN promote bladder cancer research, education and support programs – but, most importantly, to save lives.
Bladder cancer is the sixth-most diagnosed cancer in the United States. This year, more than 81,000 people will be diagnosed with bladder cancer and more than 17,000 will die from this disease - let alone the fact that it’s more lethal for women at every stage of the disease.
When Megan was first diagnosed with bladder cancer there was little information available due to her unique case but her oncologist directed her to BCAN. Having an outlet to get educated on bladder cancer helped us grasp the general terms and gave us hope for a future. We can’t wait to participate in something that will benefit other patients and families trying to navigate through one of the most overwhelming, toughest times in their lives - a time that can feel very helpless/hopeless.
