We are participating as a team in the 2021 Virtual Walk to End Bladder Cancer to honor Megan's bladder cancer fight and show that No One Walks Alone. Last year our team participated in the walks and we were able to raise $7,350.00 - I was blown away by the overwhelming support - our success inspires me to further support these critical resources that no one but BCAN provides. I am asking for your support to reach my goal. Your contribution will make an impact, whether you are able to join the team, donate or spread awareness. Every bit helps!
Bladder cancer is common; now, more than 600,000 people live with the disease in the United States. More than 83,720 people will be diagnosed with bladder cancer this year. That means that on average, 228 people each day this year will hear the devastating words, "you have bladder cancer". Additionally, more than 17,000 people will die from bladder cancer - let alone the fact that it's more lethal for women at every stage of the disease.
By making a donation to our team, you will be helping the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN), a community of passionate individuals united in support of those affected by bladder cancer. BCAN offers free education and support resources for bladder cancer and has funded more than $5 million in bladder cancer research. These critical resources would not be possible without the support of generous donors.
We are excited to participate in something that will benefit other patients and families trying to navigate one of the most overwhelming, toughest times in their lives - a time that can feel so hopeless. We are excited to help BCAN continue to be a "beacon of hope" to all those affected by this devastating disease.
